Here’s What’s Happening In Sderot
Many projects have taken place and the situation in Sderot and Israel have changed since our last newsletter, so we will try to bring you up to date.
Cross border skirmishes have increased as have Kassam rockets fired from Gaza over the past few months and the Iron Dome has been deployed for some time now. The Tseva Adom alarm sounded in the next city over as we were starting to write this newsletter.
There is concern that the present cease fire will not last much longer as ISIS is moving into Gaza and they have their own agenda which is not dictated by Hamas. We are truly surrounded by our enemies, all who wish to see Israel erased from the map; they all forget one thing…
“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of YAH, and their due reward from Me, says YAH.”
And on that happy note… We are thankful you all the love and support we received while we were feeding the Holocaust survivors at “The Club”. We prepared a little over 2000 hot meal, kept them in bread, milk and cleaning supplies as well, over the eleven weeks we had the opportunity to serve them.
We have been providing food for families for Shabbat each week and in some cases providing hot meal for them as well. We are still supporting one of our schools with food for kids that come to school either hungry or without a lunch. This coming week we will be providing salads to a Bar Mitzvah for a family who is struggling, more about that in our next newsletter.
Passover is in less than three and a half weeks and we are already receiving requests for help. For some Passover is a difficult time, but it shouldn’t be. The added stress of providing holiday meals for you family pushes some beyond their ability to provide and it is these families we hope to help this year; that however we cannot do without your generous support.
I have heard more times than I would like to have heard that “I hate the holiday because I can’t afford them”. With your love and support we will be able to help those words and sentiments from being part of Passover this year.
EVERYTHING we do is made possible by you, our supporters. If you would like to help us provide for Passover or any of the projects we do please click here to do so. If you are not in the position now to help, boy do we understand the difficult time facing many all over.
Maybe you could forward our newsletter to your friends or share it with a group you are part of and by helping us get the word out there may be someone who might want to help us , if they only knew about Hope For Sderot. Thank you for your support.
