In the last seven days I can’t begin to tell you how many Kassams have been fired at us or how many times we have had to run to our bomb shelter or even how many times we have heard the “Iron Dome” launch a rocket to intercept an incoming rocket but I can tell you how any people have come in to pick up their food this month and how many “War Boxes” we have given out to date.

With this being the last week of August there are only 100 families that still need come in to pick up their food and war boxes. We were not sure how many families would come in this month because of the constant threat of an incoming rocket but we are right on target; which proves one of two things… One the people really need the help or two we are a resilient people and will not roll over and play dead even though we might be scared… I believe it is both.

We started building war boxes after the “Cast Lead” operation back in 2009. By 2012 and the “Pillar Of Cloud” operation we felt that this was not the time to distribute them as the operation lasted only seven days. Now that we are in day 48 of “Operation Protective Edge” and see no end in sight, now is the time to give them out.

Our volunteers have come in faithfully each week to help pack and distribute the food bags; I am not sure what we would do without them.

We are still looking at school starting at the end of the month and our list of people that still need help with school supplies and tuition is still growing. We could still use your help to make going back to school a bit easier for our already stressed out residents. You can click here to help us.

Our next food shipment is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday of this coming week but there is one small glitch as of today… the distributer is afraid to send his truck and driver to our suppler here in Sderot… this is a first!

One of the new dangers we face now besides Kassams, Tunnels, Mortars and Terrorists is all of the metal pieces from the exploding Kassam and Iron Dome rocket falling out of the sky. Some of the pieces are small others are quite large and could kill you if you were hit by them.

Now instead of waiting to hear the explosion and then going about your business you need to keep sheltered for a little bit longer to give time for all the debris to fall back to the ground. The piece pictured fell twenty feet away from me.

We still need your support and prayers. If you can support us you can do so by clicking here. If you not able at this time to help with support please say a prayer for us prayers cost nothing, just a little of your time but they can move mountains and more important Hearts. Toda Raba
